How can I support the IU community without giving money directly to the IU Foundation?

We recommend one (or both!) of the following strategies:

1) Make a gift directly to the department, scholarship, program, or school you wish to support. Contact them directly to determine if direct giving is available.

2) Make a gift directly to We The Hoosiers.

What will We The Hoosiers do with my donation?

All gifts will be held in a money market account until President Pamela Whitten is removed from office at IU.

Are my donations to We The Hoosiers tax-deductible?
We The Hoosiers is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit. Your donation is fully deductible. We’ll provide written confirmation of your donation upon receipt.

Can my donation to WTH go to a specific department, school, program, or scholarship?

Yes. When our board approves releasing funds to IU, we will work with you to ensure your donation supports the program or scholarship of your choice. Any gift without such an earmark will go to the IU Foundation.​​

What will happen to my donation to WTH if Pam Whitten remains university president?

If IU makes no administrative changes within five years, WTH will communicate with all donors about alternative uses for donations. The alternatives will directly support IU students and faculty.
