Are my donations tax-deductible?
We The Hoosiers is a non-profit organization and has applied to the IRS for 501(c)(3) tax-exemption. Our status is pending approval. The IRS allows donors to contribute to nonprofits whose tax-exempt status is pending approval. Once the IRS approves our application, your donation is fully deductible as of the date it is made and we’ll provide you written confirmation.

Can my donation go to a specific department or school, or fund a scholarship?

Yes. When our board approves releasing funds to IU, we will work with you to ensure your donation supports the program or scholarship of your choice.

What will happen to my donation if Pam Whitten remains university president?

If IU makes no administrative changes within five years, WTH will communicate with all donors about alternative uses for donations. The alternatives will directly support IU students and faculty.
